Acupuncture in Bozeman, on a Sliding Scale
Licensed acupuncturists, thorough private intakes, and semi-private treatments from $50 to $80. You choose the rate that allows you to get the care you need to create change.
Semi-private treatment, full private attention
Our acupuncture is semi-private: after your one-on-one intake conversation, you receive treatment in a shared space with your own curtained treatment space. It's how we keep a full treatment affordable.
Here's what semi-private doesn't mean: rushed, generic, or one-needle-fits-all. Your intake, diagnosis, and point selection are exactly what you'd receive in a private room.
Care that meets you where you are
We use a sliding scale so more people can access care. Choose the rate that best reflects your current financial situation. No income verification, no paperwork, no questions.
| Annual income | Treatment cost |
|---|---|
| New patient intake fee (one time) | $25 |
| Under $30,000 | $50–55 |
| $30,000–40,000 | $55–60 |
| $40,000–50,000 | $60–65 |
| $50,000–60,000 | $65–70 |
| $60,000–70,000 | $70–75 |
| $70,000+ | $80 |
New patient intake fee: a one-time $25 fee covers your first visit's extended private intake, where your acupuncturist goes through your full health history before your first treatment.
Package discount: bundle 3 or more treatments and save $5 off your sliding scale rate.
Community discounts: we offer $45 acupuncture treatments for veterans, Medicare and Medicaid recipients, and students (current ID required). One discount per patient; package and community discounts can't be combined.
Paying it forward: if you're in a position to pay toward the higher end of the scale, your contribution helps keep care accessible for others in our community.
A complete system of medicine
Chinese medicine is a full diagnostic and treatment system, refined over thousands of years and practiced here as exactly that: medicine. Your acupuncturist is trained to look, listen, and feel for the imbalances that present in your body and work with you to help shift them back into balance, working with both acute and chronic conditions. That includes herbal and supplement recommendations, lifestyle and diet conversations, stretches and movement, and more. They are looking to the root of the issue to help you create lasting change.
Patients come to us for:
A note on needling:
if you've had dry needling from a physical therapist, our orthopedic needling will feel familiar, with one difference. Dry needling targets the spot that hurts; we treat that spot and the whole person attached to it. Honest caveat, because we'd rather earn trust than overclaim: acupuncture isn't magic, results build with consistency, and if we think your situation needs a different kind of care, we'll say so and point you in the right direction.
Two more ways to treat
Cupping-only sessions · $30
Cupping on its own, without a full acupuncture treatment: suction cups placed on the skin to boost circulation, release fascia, and loosen stubborn muscle tension. A quick, effective visit when that's all you need.
Bodywork add-on · $30, added to your sliding scale rate
Twenty extra minutes on your acupuncture appointment for hands-on work chosen by your practitioner: cupping, gua sha, face-up and face-down treatment, and more. Book it when your body needs more than needles that day.

Your first visit, question by question
-
Plan longer for your first visit, which includes your extended private intake. After that, a follow-up acupuncture visit runs about an hour, or about an hour and twenty minutes if you add bodywork.
-
Plan for a longer first visit. Your acupuncturist will begin with a private, in-depth consultation that explores your health history and all of your body systems. In Chinese medicine, the body tells a story, and your practitioner is trained to understand how those pieces fit together.
-
After discussing your concerns, explaining what to expect, and answering any questions, you'll be shown to our community treatment room and settled into your semi-private treatment space. Your acupuncture needles will be gently placed, and then you'll rest on a heated treatment bed, with the option of a soothing infrared heat lamp.
-
Most people are surprised by how little they feel. Acupuncture needles are hair-thin, nothing like injection needles, and if anything ever feels off, say so and your acupuncturist will adjust right away.
-
Your sliding scale rate ($50–80, chosen by you) plus the one-time $25 intake fee, which covers that extended private consultation. [See the full sliding scale]
-
Loose, comfortable clothing. Many of the points your acupuncturist needs can be reached with sleeves and pant legs rolled up, though we needle all over, so you're welcome to disrobe to your comfort level. Top sheets are provided for coverage and warmth. Some people bring shorts to change into, or wear a sports bra for face-down work. Your practitioner will tell you what they need for your treatment and step out while you get settled.
-
Yes, at any stage. We use a pregnancy bolster so you can receive face-down treatment comfortably all the way through, and we regularly work with fertility, morning sickness, back and hip pain, and labor preparation.
-
We treat young patients too, and there are a few policies that keep the shared treatment space safe and quiet for everyone. [The details are on our New Patients page.]
-
Most patients leave feeling calmer than they have in weeks, with a greater sense of balance and a clear plan for what comes next.
